Six newly graduated police constables have sustained injuries in a motor accident at Rijiyar Gwangwan village, Dawakin Kudu Local Government Area of Kano State.
Sources at the hospital revealed that the crash occurred around 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday and involved a green Sharon bus with registration number AA 229 DKA, driven by Shehu Bilya of Sabon Gari, Wudil, and a DAF trailer whose driver reportedly fled immediately after the incident.
According to eyewitnesses, the bus, which was travelling from Kano to Wudil, collided with the trailer from behind while attempting a U-turn.
The injured constables were identified as PC Abba Nasiru, PC Kamisu Saidu, PC Mohammed, PC Ahmed Rabiu, PC Ahmed Adamu, and W/PC Rafiatu Alkasi (F/No. 075421).
They were taken to the General Hospital, Wudil, where they are receiving treatment and are said to be responding positively.
The Police have since visited the accident scene, documented the site, and commenced efforts to trace and apprehend the fleeing trailer driver.
