Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has vowed to dedicate 20 days to showcase the achievements of President Bola Tinubu’s administration in the education sector, particularly within the nation’s capital.
Wike said the move is aimed at silencing what he described as “social media presidents” who constantly downplay the federal government’s efforts.
Speaking during the commissioning of newly completed engineering infrastructure in Wuye District, the minister said the upcoming exercise would reveal the extent of work done under Tinubu’s leadership.
“We will take 20 days to show Nigerians, to show the social media presidents, what we have done in the education sector,” Wike declared.
“We are not going to rush. We are going to shock them with what we have achieved so far so that they will know that President Tinubu’s administration is not only concentrating on roads and infrastructure, but also making huge progress in education.”
The minister added that the FCT Administration’s focus on schools, learning facilities, and academic welfare represents the president’s commitment to human capital development as much as physical infrastructure.
Wike further noted that after the 20-day period of flagging off and commissioning projects, his team would take a brief break before resuming other phases of the administration’s development agenda.
“I have told the Chief of Staff that after these 20 days, we will take a short rest and return to focus fully on the education sector,” he said.
Wike’s remarks come amid growing scrutiny on social media regarding the government’s performance, especially in areas beyond road construction and urban renewal.
