The Kaduna State chapter of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) has expelled its Deputy Chairman, Ahmed Tijani Mustapha, alongside eight other members over alleged acts of gross misconduct.
The decision followed resolutions reached during a State Executive Committee meeting held in Kaduna.
Among those expelled were the state Publicity Secretary, Idris Musa; Vice Chairman Zone 1, Sulaiman Abdullahi; Treasurer, Gambo Sani; Financial Secretary, Magaji Maiwada; and Legal Adviser, Danlami Dabai Musa. Others included the Coordinator of Persons with Disabilities, Saura Muhammed; Deputy Youth Leader, Ibrahim Muhammed; and Mansur Gaga.
The party accused the affected members of insubordination, falsification of documents, holding secret meetings to undermine party leadership, extortion, and other acts deemed injurious to the image of the ADC.
Addressing journalists after the meeting, the party chairman, Elder Patrick Ambut, said the leadership remained committed to discipline, peace, and adherence to the party’s constitution.
”As law-abiding members of the ADC party, we are committed to upholding the Constitution of the party and ensuring the integrity of our party’s structure,” he said.
Ambut further described the deputy chairman’s actions as an abuse of office and a violation of the ADC constitution.
“The Deputy Chairman acted without due process, as he lacks the constitutional authority to convene any meeting or issue such directives,” the ADC chairman stressed.
