Two people, including a young girl, were reportedly killed when bandits raided Layin Ajiya community in Bakori Local Government Area of Katsina State on Friday evening.
According to a post on X (formerly Twitter) by a user identified as @Bakatsine, the attack occurred during Maghrib prayers.
The assailants were said to have invaded the area, shooting sporadically and causing panic among residents.
He wrote: “ALERT: During Maghrib prayers yesterday evening, bandits raided Layin Ajiya community in Bakori LGA, Katsina State.
“Two people were killed including a girl who reportedly resisted abduction. The attackers also rustled livestock and stole a motorcycle,” the post read.
The bandits were also said to have carted away several livestock and a motorcycle before fleeing the scene.
As of the time of filing this report, security agencies and the Katsina State Government were yet to issue any official statement regarding the incident.
