Must read

The Lagos State Police Command has begun an investigation into the death of a Canadian national, identified simply as Sullivan, who was found lifeless in his hotel room on Victoria Island.

It was learnt that the incident happened in the early hours of October 7, just five days after he checked into the hotel on October 2.

According to a hotel attendant who spoke on condition of anonymity, the guest was discovered unresponsive on the floor of his room after several attempts to reach him failed.

The hotel’s Chief Security Officer reported the matter to the Victoria Island Police Division around 4:30 pm, prompting detectives to visit the scene for documentation and examination.

A police source said there were no visible marks of violence on Sullivan’s body, suggesting that foul play was not immediately suspected.

The remains of the deceased were later taken to the Lagos Island General Hospital, Marina, where a medical officer confirmed his death.

His body has since been deposited at the hospital morgue for autopsy, while the Lagos State Police Command said investigations are ongoing to ascertain the cause of death.
