Kaduna PDP suspends state secretary over alleged misconduct

Must read

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Kaduna State has suspended its Secretary, Mr Sa’idu Adamu, following allegations of gross misconduct and activities deemed harmful to the party’s interests.

State Publicity Secretary, Mrs Maria Dogo, confirmed the development in a statement on Tuesday, emphasising that the action aligns with the party’s constitution.

“This decision was taken by the State Working Committee during its meeting on Monday, October 6, 2025, at the party secretariat,” Dogo said.

According to the statement, Adamu’s suspension is effective immediately and will last for one month while investigations are conducted.

“During this period, he is prohibited from participating in any party activities at all levels,” Dogo added.

The PDP leadership stressed that the move reflects the party’s commitment to discipline, fairness, and accountability.

Mrs Dogo highlighted that under the guidance of State Chairman Edward Percy Masha, the party aims to strengthen internal structures and ensure that all members are held accountable.

“This action is not punitive for its own sake but is part of our ongoing efforts to maintain integrity within the party,” Dogo said.

The suspension in Kaduna follows a similar recent case in Anambra State, where the House of Assembly suspended lawmaker Bernard Udemezue for three months.

The legislator, representing Ayamelum Constituency on the PDP platform, faced disciplinary action after sharing content on social media alleging marginalisation in constituency allowances.

AFRIPOST reports that these moves reflect a growing emphasis on internal discipline within the PDP, signaling a stricter approach to managing party affairs and public conduct by its members.
