Suspected APC thugs attack Malami’s convoy again

Must read

The convoy of former Minister of Justice and Attorney-General of the Federation, Abubakar Malami (SAN), was on Friday attacked by suspected political thugs in Argungu, Kebbi State.

Eyewitnesses said the hoodlums, dressed in All Progressives Congress (APC) jerseys and armed with weapons, pelted parts of Malami’s convoy while shouting insults at his supporters.

The latest assault occurred as Malami was leaving a wedding ceremony in Argungu.

It comes barely a month after a similar attack on his convoy along the Old NITEL Road in Birnin Kebbi during a condolence visit.

Political observers have described the repeated attacks as a troubling indication of rising political violence in Kebbi State ahead of future elections.

The incidents have also generated outrage on social media, with many calling on the authorities to rein in political thuggery and ensure that the perpetrators are brought to justice.

Residents have urged security agencies to investigate the attacks and guarantee the safety of political leaders and ordinary citizens across the state.

Police authorities in the state have yet to release an official statement as of press time.
