The Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) in Edo State, Gbenga Agun, is dead.
As reported by Daily Post, Agun reportedly slumped on Thursday while attending an event in Benin City.
He was said to have collapsed shortly after delivering a keynote address at a programme organised by the International Association of World Peace Advocates.
The commandant was immediately rushed to the Military Hospital on Airport Road, Benin, but doctors pronounced him dead on arrival.
As at press time, the Edo State Command of the NSCDC and the agency’s national headquarters were yet to issue an official statement on the development.
