Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed, has relieved the Commissioner for Women’s Affairs and Child Development, Hajiya Zainab Baban-Takko, of her appointment.
The announcement was contained in a government statement issued on Monday.
According to the statement, the governor carried out a minor shake-up in the State Executive Council.
“In that respect, the Honourable Commissioner for Women Affairs and Child Development, Hajiya Zainab-Baban Takko, has been relieved of her appointment with immediate effect.
“The governor thanks the honourable commissioner for her services to the State and wishes her success in her future endeavours,” the statement read.
Baban-Takko, who was appointed in 2019 at the start of Mohammed’s first term, had remained in the cabinet until her removal.
The government said the decision takes effect immediately.
