Star Afrobeat singer, Asake has shared his insights on the perception of humility and ego in the music industry.
According to the artiste, being humble is often mistaken for weakness, while displaying ego tends to make fans and audiences find an artist more appealing.
He explained that people are more interested in seeing results than being told about them.
Asake stated that it is often a waste of time to show people how you go about doing things. If you do so, they won’t appreciate it. Rather you should simply allow them to see the results.
His words; “As an artist, if you’re humble, they take you for granted. But if you have ego they feel like you’re not accessible then they like you more. People would rather see what you’re doing than showing them. They don’t really appreciate it. Do what you need to do and just go.”
