The Bauchi State Government has dismissed two senior civil servants after they were indicted for forgery.
Mr. Saleh Umar, Information and Public Relations Officer of the Bauchi State Civil Service Commission (BSCSC), confirmed the development in a statement issued on Wednesday.
According to him, the affected officers, Mr. Yusuf Ningi, an Administrative Officer, and Suleiman Ahmed, a Principal Executive Officer 1, were found guilty during the commission’s 35th plenary session held on Tuesday.
He explained that the infractions contravened State Public Service Rule 0327 (ii, iii, and vi).
“The Officers were posted to Government House from the Office of the Head of Civil Service, and their dismissal took effect from Sept. 23,” he said.
Umar further quoted the Chairman of the Commission, Dr. Ibrahim Muhammad, as urging civil servants to abide by the Public Service Rules and avoid unlawful practices. He stressed that strict adherence to regulations would enhance service delivery and curb corruption in the system.
Muhammad reiterated the commission’s zero tolerance for misconduct, warning that discipline, integrity, and accountability remain the guiding principles of the Bauchi civil service.
Meanwhile, the commission also approved the promotion of three substantive Directors and elevated four Deputy Directors to the rank of Directors across departments such as Administration, Human Resources, Audit, Planning, Research and Statistics, Civil Litigation, and Land Valuation.
