Local government leaders from Sabuwa, Dandume and Faskari areas of Katsina State have reportedly held a meeting with bandit kingpins in Kabalawa forest, where the criminals pledged to halt attacks in the region.
The disclosure was made on Sunday in a post on X (formerly Twitter) by a security analyst, Bakatsine, who stated that the peace dialogue took place yesterday afternoon.
Bakatsine wrote: “BREAKING: Yesterday afternoon, LG leaders of Sabuwa, Dandume & Faskari met bandit kingpins in Kabalawa forest. Bandits pledged to end attacks; officials promised support for Fulani. Similar pact in Matazu LGA was also reached yesterday.

As of press time, the state government and security agencies had not issued an official statement on the development.
