Bandits abduct ex-councillor, six others in Niger

Armed bandits have kidnapped seven persons in Shiroro Local Government Area of Niger State.

The incident was disclosed on Friday by a counter-insurgency expert and security analyst, Zagazola Makama, via his X handle and sighted by AFRIPOST.

He wrote: “Armed bandits have abducted seven persons in Ajatayi and Gogala villages, Shiroro Local Government Area of Niger State.

“Sources told Zagazola that the bandits, in large numbers, invaded the villages at about 3 a.m. on Thursday.

“According to the sources, the victims include a former Councillor of Kwaki Ward, Mr James Daudu, who was abducted at Ajatayi village.

“Others kidnapped at Gogala village were identified as Mrs Ayeisalo Luka, Mrs Laminde Luka, Mrs Luma Luka, Mr Jacob Noma, Mr Emmanuel Yohana, Mr Sunday Jacob and Mr Maza Yohana.

“The sources said that security forces had been mobilised to the area, adding that efforts were ongoing to rescue the victims unhurt and arrest the perpetrators.
