The Kebbi State Government has accused former Attorney-General of the Federation, Abubakar Malami, of backing terrorism-linked agendas and stoking political unrest in the state.
In a comment during an exclusive interview on TVC News Politics Tonight, Governor Nasir Idris’s media aide alleged that Malami was playing a divisive role by empowering groups that undermine peace and stability.
According to him, the former minister’s actions amount to orchestrating violence for political advantage.
“Malami is promoting terrorism in Kebbi state. He is not wanted by the people of Kebbi state. What he is trying to do is to create a situation where all the investors invited by Governor Idris to come and invest will be scared and already they have started doing that.
“His involvement in these schemes is not only dangerous but also a betrayal of the people,” the aide said.
He further claimed that Malami’s influence had created conditions that emboldened violent actors, thereby worsening insecurity in Kebbi.
The aide maintained that such alleged actions were deliberate moves aimed at weakening the Idris administration and destabilising governance in the state.
The Kebbi government called on federal authorities and security agencies to launch a thorough probe into the allegations.
“This is not just a political matter; it is a national security concern,” the aide added.
Meanwhile, as at press time, Malami has not publicly responded to the accusations.
