Security forces have repelled a bandit attack on Gago village in Katsina State, rescuing abducted residents and neutralising several of the attackers.
A Security analyst, Bakatsine disclosed this in a post on X on Thursday, noting that the operation was carried out as the bandits retreated after the early morning assault.
According to him, the intervention by troops not only freed kidnapped villagers but also left many of the criminals dead, while others escaped with injuries.
“GOOD NEWS: This morning, bandits attacked Gago village in Katsina State. On their way back, security forces intercepted them, rescued abducted residents & neutralized several bandits, while others fled wounded. Kudos to our brave troops,” he wrote.
The development comes amid renewed military operations across the North West aimed at restoring peace in rural communities frequently targeted by bandits.
