Three persons were confirmed dead while three others sustained injuries when armed bandits invaded Unguwar Kade village in Mada district, Gusau Local Government Area of Zamfara State.
The development was disclosed on Monday by a counter-insurgency expert and security analyst, Zagazola Makama, via his X handle.
Sources said the attack occurred around 3:00 p.m. when the gunmen stormed the village and began shooting sporadically.
“Security operatives and local hunters were later deployed to the scene, but the bandits had fled before their arrival.
“The remains of the victims and those injured were taken to hospital for autopsy and treatment.
“Authorities said joint patrols have since been intensified in the area to forestall further attacks, while investigations are underway to track down the perpetrators,” he said.
