South African singer, Tyla has won the ‘Best Afrobeats’ award at the 2025 edition of MTV Video Music Awards, VMAs.
VMAs was held in New York on Sunday night.
Tyla won the ‘Best Afrobeats’ award over her Nigerian competitors with ‘Push 2 Start’, her hit song.
She, however, lost in the ‘Best Choreography’ category.
Burna Boy, Ayra Starr were also among the African nominees who lost in this category.
Popular American singer, Lady Gaga became the overall winner of the 2025 VMAs with four awards including ‘Artist of the Year’, ‘Best Direction’, ‘Best Collaboration, and ‘Best Art Direction’.
