Super Eagles head coach, Eric Chelle has revealed that striker Victor Osimhen has pain in his ankle.

Chelle revealed this to newsmen on Saturday at Godswill Akpabio International Stadium after Nigeria’s match against Rwanda.

Osimhen sustained an injury in the first half of the match. He was replaced by Panathinaikos’ new signing, Cyriel Dessers.

Speaking with reporters after the game, Chelle disclosed that the striker will be assessed ahead of the game against South Africa.

“I can’t say much about Victor for now. He has pain in his ankle, we will see when he wake up tomorrow,” the Malian said.

“I have to also discuss with the team doctors to see whether he will be available for the game”, he added.

AFRIPOST reports that the Nigeria’s Super Eagle picked victory over Rwanda on Saturday in the World Cup Qualifier match.

The team will face the Bafana Bafana of South Africa at Free State Stadium on Tuesday to claim the maximum six points in a bid to revive their faint hopes of reaching a seventh FIFA World Cup tournament in history.
