WCQ: Nigeria takes victory against Rwanda

Must read

In a struggle to qualify for the 2026 World Cup, the Super Eagle of Nigeria came out victorious in a match with Rwanda on Saturday.

The match kicked off at around 5 pm at Godswill Akpabio Stadium.

Nigeria secured their victory in the second half of the game with a goal from Tolu Arokodare.

The Super Eagles came into the game sitting in fourth place with seven points, nine behind leaders South Africa. Today’s game has, however, pushed them to third place, ahead of their game against South Africa in three days’ time.

Eric Chelle’s men will face the Bafana Bafana of South Africa at Free State Stadium on Tuesday to claim the maximum six points in a bid to revive their faint hopes of reaching a seventh FIFA World Cup tournament in history.
