President Bola Tinubu has approved the appointment of key officials into the governing councils of two federal universities of education.
This was contained in a statement sighted by AFRIPOST on X formerly Twitter on Wednesday and signed by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga.
Tinubu named Engineer Abdurrazaq Abubakar Nakore as the Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of the Governing Council of Yusuf Maitama Sule Federal University of Education, Kano.
The President also appointed Prof. Abdullahi Tukur Kodage as Vice Chancellor of the Kano-based institution.
Nakore, a Fellow of the Nigerian Society of Engineers, once served as the Executive Secretary of the Jigawa State Rural Electricity Board.
In a related development, Tinubu approved the appointment of Prof. Yahaya Isa Bunkure as Vice Chancellor of the Federal University of Education, Zaria, Kaduna State.
Bunkure, an expert in science education, is currently the Vice Chancellor of Saadatu Rimi University of Education in Kano.
The two universities were among four colleges of education upgraded into full-fledged universities between 2022 and 2023.
