Fast-rising Nigerian singer, Shoday has shared his opinion on the staying power of controversial street-hop star Portable, stating that it will take a long time before the artist fades from the spotlight.
Feeding answers to questions in a recent interview, Shoday opined that Portable’s appeal goes beyond his music, highlighting his distinct personality and fearless presence on social media.
He further recalled that many had dismissed Portable as a one-year wonder when he first rose to fame. However, according to Shoday, the singer has continued to prove critics wrong.
His words; “Artists like Portable, before he will go down and not trend again, it will be long. Music is far beyond song. You can’t just be putting out music people need to know who you are. People need to know your personality and this person doesn’t care. He posts on Instagram like WhatsApp. When he came out people thought he was only going to trend for a year and that’s that, but till today he’s still buzzing…”
