A Tribute to Engr. (Dr.) Roland Ahmed: A Visionary Leader Honored for Impact

Must read

In a world where true dedication often goes unnoticed, Engr. (Dr.) Roland Ahmed stands out as a beacon of consistency, compassion, and transformative leadership. As he is conferred an Honorary Doctorate Degree by Missionsville International Theological Seminary at its 9th Graduation Ceremony, I am filled with pride and gratitude for a man who has been more than a colleague. He has been a brother, a confidant, and a cornerstone of progress in Nigeria’s aviation and educational sectors. This recognition is not just a milestone; it’s a testament to a life devoted to excellence and service.

A Titan in African Aviation

Dr. Roland Ahmed is a name synonymous with innovation and integrity in African aviation. As Group Managing Director of 7Star Global Aviation, where I serve as CEO, and CEO of Leadstream Aviation, one of Nigeria’s premier Approved Training Organizations (ATOs), Roland has redefined what leadership looks like. His focus on safety, training, and global-standard systems has positioned 7Star as a trailblazer in the industry. But beyond the titles, it’s his ability to inspire and deliver results that sets him apart.

Our shared journey began over 20 years ago but became more pronounced when I served as National President of the National Association of Aircraft Pilots and Engineers (NAAPE), with Roland as my Vice President. Those were challenging years, marked by battles to elevate industry standards and protect the dignity of our profession. Roland wasn’t just a deputy, he was a strategist, a calming presence, and a relentless advocate for progress. His loyalty and wisdom have been unwavering ever since, shaping the success of ventures like Isaac Balami University of Aeronautics and Management (IBUAM), the Isaac Balami Foundation (IBF), and 7Star Global Aviation.

A Heart for Humanity

What makes Roland truly remarkable is his humanity. Beyond boardrooms and balance sheets, he’s a man who cares deeply about people. Whether mentoring young aviation hopefuls or supporting IBF’s community initiatives, Roland invests not just resources but his heart. His belief in empowering others isn’t rhetoric but action. He partners with scholarships, mentors with patience, and follows through with unwavering commitment.

A Well-Deserved Honor

The Honorary Doctorate Degree bestowed upon Roland is more than a title; it’s a recognition of decades of resilience, innovation, and service to Nigeria. From aviation to education and philanthropy, his contributions have left an indelible mark. This honor from Missionsville International Theological Seminary affirms what those of us who know him have always seen: a leader who builds systems, uplifts dreams, and serves with humility.

An Inspiration for Nigeria’s Future

Roland’s story is a blueprint for young Nigerians. In an era of fleeting fame, he proves that consistency, clarity, and character are the true pillars of success. His leadership, marked by quiet strength and relentless dedication challenges us all to aim higher, not for recognition, but for impact.

To my brother, Dr. Roland Ahmed: For over two decades, you’ve stood by me through bold dreams and tough battles. IBUAM, IBF, 7Star and beyond. These are not just projects; they’re legacies we’ve built together. Today, as the world celebrates you as “Doctor,” I celebrate you as a giant whose heart and vision have lifted countless others.

Congratulations on this well-earned honor. This doctorate is not the pinnacle but a springboard for even greater heights. Keep soaring, Roland because when you rise, you carry Nigeria and all of us with you.
