Must read

Kaduna security forces have successfully rescued three children who were abducted in the Kurmin Mashi area and arrested three suspects linked to the kidnapping.

A security source familiar with the case told AFRIPOST that the operation followed a distress report filed on August 25 by the victims’ relatives, who revealed that the kidnappers were demanding a ransom of N50 million.

The rescued children have been identified as 14-year-old Aslam Umar Lukman, 12-year-old Suleiman Umar Tanko, and 10-year-old Aliyu Umar Tanko.

Acting on intelligence, police arrested one of the suspects, 19-year-old Richard Philip of Calabar Road, Sabon Layi, on August 26.

During interrogation, Philip reportedly admitted his involvement in the abduction and disclosed that he collaborated with two other youths, Ibrahim Ma’aruf, 18, and Abubakar Sadiq, 15, both from Kurmin Mashi.

“The children were recovered safely from Philip’s residence, and thankfully, they were unharmed,” the security source said.

All three suspects are now in custody and have provided valuable information to investigators.

Authorities confirmed that the case will be handed over to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) for further investigation and prosecution.
