A disturbing video circulating on social media has sparked outrage after a man was seen executing three young men he accused of using his gun to commit robbery.
In the footage, the man, who spoke in a mix of Igbo, Pidgin, and English, declared that the killings were meant to serve as a warning to others.
Holding his weapon, he was heard saying: “Let this be a lesson to everybody. If anyone dares touch my iron (gun) for robbery, he will receive it hot. Very hot!”
The victims, whose identities remain unclear, were shot dead despite desperate pleas for mercy.
The assailant ignored their cries and maintained that their alleged misuse of his gun left him with no choice but to act.
Meanwhile, some online reports have identified the shooter as Oyubu Victor, popularly called Commander Gentle, and linked him to the Biafran Liberation Army allegedly associated with IPOB.
So far, no official security agency has released a statement on the incident, leaving many questions about where and when the killings took place.
The video has, however, drawn sharp criticism from Nigerians on social media, with many calling for an urgent investigation and the arrest of those involved.
One Twitter user wrote, “This is beyond jungle justice. No one has the right to take lives like this. Authorities must trace and apprehend him immediately.”
The graphic nature of the clip has further fueled debates on the rise of armed militias and the growing culture of extrajudicial killings across parts of the country.
