EFCC disowns ex-staff featured in matchmaking show, orders arrest

Must read

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has distanced itself from the appearance of one of its dismissed staff, Olakunle Alex Folarin, in a matchmaking programme on Lege Miami’s social media platforms.

In a statement posted on its official X handle and sighted by AFRIPOST on Monday, the anti-graft agency described Folarin’s involvement in the show as “condemnable,” stressing that he was no longer in its service.

Folarin, who worked as a driver at the EFCC’s Ibadan Zonal Directorate, was sacked over certificate forgery.

The Commission revealed that its Executive Chairman, Ola Olukoyede, has directed Folarin’s arrest for being in possession of some EFCC property, including an identity card, which he failed to return after his dismissal.

The agency also cautioned the public not to associate Folarin’s conduct with the EFCC, noting that his appearance on the matchmaking platform was strictly personal and had no connection to the Commission.
