Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, has praised President Bola Tinubu and National Security Adviser (NSA) Malam Nuhu Ribadu for recent counter-terrorism operations that disrupted terrorist activities in the state.

In a statement released by his spokesperson, Olawale Rasheed, the governor described the arrest of Ansaru group leaders as “a significant milestone in Nigeria’s fight against terrorism.”

Adeleke commended the proactive approach of the federal security apparatus, noting that these interventions have strengthened Osun’s capacity to safeguard its citizens.

“The dismantling of terrorist sleeper cells in Osun demonstrates the effectiveness of our national security framework.

“The coordinated efforts of the Office of the NSA and various security agencies, including the military, DSS, and police, have yielded remarkable results,” Adeleke said.

He highlighted the reforms and innovations under President Tinubu’s administration, which he said have enhanced the efficiency of Nigeria’s intelligence and security agencies.

“Visiting our security operatives firsthand, I observed their dedication and professionalism. Osun, like other states, is benefiting from these federal security reforms,” the governor added.

Adeleke also commended the wider security leadership, including the Chief of Defence Staff, service chiefs, DSS Director-General, Inspector General of Police, and Commandant-General of the Civil Defence Corps, for their role in curbing terrorist threats.

“We applaud the president, the NSA, and the security leadership for these decisive actions. Our citizens are safer thanks to proactive and innovative security strategies,” he concluded.
