Tension as auto mechanic hangs self in Osun

Must read

Residents of Otan Ile were thrown into confusion following the discovery of a local auto mechanic, Tope Olajide, deceased in his home.

Sources from the community, who requested anonymity, reported that the man’s body was found hanging inside his room.

Security agents were quickly alerted and secured the premises to prevent public access.

An eyewitness shared details with reporters, stating:“Officers of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps were the first to arrive at the scene of the incident. They interacted with the people they met in the house regarding the incident.”

Kehinde Adeleke, spokesperson for the NSCDC in Osun, verified the event. She mentioned that the command received a report around 9:27 am on Thursday concerning the incident.

“Information gathered from people living close to the deceased indicates that he had a misunderstanding with his wife on Wednesday night. People insinuated suicide; should that be taken to be true, what led to it is still hidden,” Adeleke said.

The NSCDC also encouraged community members experiencing emotional distress to seek support through official channels, emphasizing the value of life and available conflict resolution services.

“No one should ever feel compelled to take his or her own life; every life is valuable and irreplaceable,” the statement concluded.
