Former Delta State Governor, Ifeanyi Okowa, has praised President Bola Tinubu, saying his administration is gradually restoring stability and hope to Nigeria.
Okowa made the remarks in Abuja at a national summit hosted by the Integrity Group of Nigeria (IGN), themed “Renewed Hope Agenda Through Continuity.”
The former governor described Tinubu as a decisive leader who has taken ownership of the country’s challenges and is working to address them head-on.
“President Tinubu may have taken some difficult steps, but those decisions are already producing positive outcomes,” Okowa said.
“He has shown that he is willing to take responsibility instead of passing blame, and that has brought a sense of hope and stability back to the nation.”
Okowa, who openly declared his support for Tinubu’s second-term bid in 2027, urged Nigerians to rally behind the president to consolidate on ongoing reforms.
“We are here to strengthen what has been built, to add value with experience, knowledge, love, and resources,” he stated.
“The groundwork for 2027 must begin now because this president deserves continuity.”
The event also drew support from other political leaders and stakeholders. IGN’s convener and national chairman, Oke Idawene, maintained that Tinubu came into office fully prepared and has since demonstrated commitment to Nigeria’s growth.
“Never again should we allow those who squandered our national prosperity to return to power,” Idawene said.
“Today, students can access loans, security has improved, and governors in the progressive bloc are already working towards Tinubu’s re-election in 2027.”
Former senator Binta Garba echoed similar sentiments, noting that Tinubu inherited a struggling nation but managed to redirect it toward progress. She stressed that continuity in 2027 would strengthen the Renewed Hope Agenda.
Also lending her voice, former Minister of Women Affairs, Pauline Tallen, called on citizens to pray for the president, insisting that the signs of progress were already visible.
She pointed to the All Progressives Congress’ (APC) by-election victories and Nigerian girls’ sporting achievements as proof that the country is on the right path.
The pro-chancellor of the Federal University of Technology, Akure, Professor Nora Daduut, who chaired the summit, urged women and support groups to continue promoting the Renewed Hope message nationwide.
The summit ended with a collective call for unity, prayers, and sustained support for President Tinubu as he steers Nigeria through a challenging but hopeful path.
