The All Progressives Congress (APC) has emerged with sweeping victory in the Egume/Dekina State Constituency by-election.
The APC candidate, Musa Hassan Yakubu, secured 55,073 votes to defeat his closest rival, Godwin Meliga of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), who polled 1,038 votes, a margin of more than 54,000.
The Returning Officer, Prof. Emmanuel Onoja Eneche, declared Yakubu as the winner of the contest.
Other candidates finished with distant figures as Egene Joseph Ugbede of the APM garnered 445 votes, Amos Ahaiba of ADC scored 141, Rilwan Mudi of the SDP had 5 votes, while Yakubu Ugbede of AA managed 16 votes.
