Gunmen have killed one person and abducted another during an attack on a farmland in Lema community, Edu Local Government Area of Kwara State.
The development was made known in a post sighted by AFRIPOST on X, formerly Twitter by Counter Insurgency expert, Zagazola Makama
Sources told Zagazola that the incident occurred at about 12:41 p.m. when three men, Mallam Sode Alhassan, 42; Musa Adama, 35; and Ndanuruh Aminu, 30, were working on their groundnut farm at Gaga farmland area.
“Suddenly, some unknown gunmen armed with AK-47 rifles attacked them, killing Alhassan instantly, injuring Aminu on the shoulder, and whisking away Adama to an unknown destination.
“On receipt of the report, the scene of the incident was visited by security operatives. The injured victim was taken to General Hospital, Share, for treatment, while the body of the deceased was deposited at the hospital mortuary,” the sources said.
Zagazola said sources noted that a combined team of military Police, vigilantes and local hunters had been mobilised to comb the surrounding bushes in search of the abducted victim and to arrest the perpetrators.
