The Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) has hailed the appointment of Mr. Idris Olorunnimbe as Chairman-designate of its Board, describing him as a leader of exceptional calibre.
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu approved Olorunnimbe’s appointment alongside other members of the incoming NCC Board and the Universal Service Provision Fund (USPF) Board.
The Commission said the new team brings “proven capacity, depth of experience, and a history of delivering results.”
NCC Chief Executive Officer, Dr. Aminu Maida, said the new board will be instrumental in driving the country’s digital growth.
“Their collective expertise will guide the Commission’s regulatory work and help position Nigeria as a strong force in the global digital economy,” he noted.
Dr. Maida also expressed gratitude to the President for the appointments, adding that the Commission looks forward to collaborating with the supervising Ministry and the new leadership to advance the Renewed Hope Agenda in the communications sector.
