Security operatives have arrested the Village Head of Sukutum in Kankiya Local Government Area of Katsina State for allegedly serving as an informant to armed bandits.
The arrest was disclosed in a post sighted by AFRIPOST on X, formerly Twitter by a security analyst, Zagazola Makama.
The suspect, whose name has not been released, was apprehended following intelligence reports linking him to criminal gangs operating in the area.
Part of his post reads, “According to security sources, the village head was accused of providing information to the bandits about the movement of security personnel and vulnerable communities, enabling them to launch attacks.
“The sources also alleged that he frequently visited the bandits in their hideouts to maintain contact and coordinate activities.
“Authorities said the suspect is in custody and undergoing further investigation to determine the extent of his involvement and to identify other possible collaborators.
