At least one person was killed and 10 others abducted when armed bandits stormed Kabomo community in Bakori Local Government Area of Katsina State on Sunday night.
The attack, confirmed on Monday morning by Northern security analyst Bakatsine, targeted both men and women in the quiet rural settlement.
According to Bakatsine, the assailants arrived in large numbers, shooting sporadically to create panic before whisking away their captives.
“The attackers killed one resident during the raid and took away at least 10 others, including women,” he told The Guild.
AFRIPOST reports that the incident adds to the growing wave of insecurity in Katsina State, which has witnessed repeated cases of banditry, kidnappings, and killings in recent months.
Local residents are said to be living in fear as many communities in Bakori LGA remain vulnerable due to limited security presence.
Authorities in Katsina have yet to issue an official statement regarding the attack as of the time of filing this report.
