Armed men have kidnapped Professor Musa Dankyau, a professor at Bingham University in Abuja, during a late-night attack on his residence in Plateau State.
Sources revealed that the incident took place around 9:30 p.m. on Monday when the assailants invaded SA Estate along Guratopp Road in Jos South Local Government Area.
The attackers reportedly forced their way into the compound and abducted Prof. Dankyau at gunpoint, taking him to an unknown location.
Security operatives have since launched a coordinated manhunt to locate the professor and bring the kidnappers to justice.
Confirming the development, a source told security analyst, Zagazola Makama that “efforts are currently underway involving both local vigilantes and security agencies to secure the safe release of the professor and arrest the perpetrators responsible for the abduction.”
Meanwhile, on social media, especially X, the news has sparked concern as incidents of kidnapping for ransom are now becoming rampant, with academic scholars like professors and Vice Chancellors getting kidnapped almost daily.
