Social media influencer and activist, VeryDarkMan, has alleged that the renaming of the Charley Boy bus stop in Lagos to the Bado bus stop is simply an act of tribalism and instigation by some politicians.
The activist revealed that it is the work of politicians who are trying to instigate the Yoruba people against the Igbos because it is almost time for election.
Revealing further, VeryDarkMan alleged that Charley Boy and Olamide are just pawns used by politicians to achieve their aim of using tribalism to disintegrate Nigerians.
VDM said, “There’s been a heated controversy after the Lagos State government renamed the popular Charlie Boy Bus Stop to Olamide Bus Stop.
“They even held a celebration to unveil the new name, which has sparked outrage, especially from Charlie Boy and many social media users.
“But what’s truly disappointing is how so many people are angry without seeing the bigger picture. This isn’t just about two public figures, it’s a calculated political move.
“The government doesn’t care about Charlie Boy or Olamide. This is tribal politics at play, designed to stir tension between Igbos and Yorubas.
“Renaming a culturally symbolic location right before an election isn’t random; it’s a strategy. Politicians in Nigeria thrive on three tools: tribalism, religion, and money.
“When they sense political alignment across ethnic lines, they create division. This is exactly what’s happening.
“We’ve seen it before, especially in Lagos during past elections. Suddenly, narratives emerge telling Igbos they don’t belong. Now it’s starting again.
“And many of you, who often claim to be politically aware, can’t see it. This isn’t about Charlie Boy or Olamide. They’re pawns. The goal is distraction and division. Wake up and see through the game.
“It’s a calculated move to stir division, to pit Igbos against Yorubas and vice versa. By replacing a name associated with an Igbo cultural icon with that of a Yoruba music star, they are deliberately setting the stage for tribal comparison, competition, and eventual conflict.”
