Following a viral video showing some masked men burgling a house in Ekiti and the condemnation of the Nigerian police as the perpetrators, the police have come out to iterate that their officers were not behind the house invasion.
The Lagos state police public relations officer, CSP Benjamin Hundeyin, revealed that the men involved are personnel of another government security agency.
The police relations officer further stated that the agency has been identified, and an investigation is ongoing.
Hundeyin made this known while replying to a social media user on X who questioned the police when they denied they were involved.
The social media user has asked how the masked men got the weapons and uniforms if they weren’t officers of the Nigerian police.
Replying, the Lagos police public relations officer stated, “Kindly take out time to read the press statement from Ekiti State Police Command, and you would understand that these men are personnel of another government security agency. The agency has been identified, and an investigation is ongoing.”
AFRIPOST reports that a video went viral yesterday showing some masked men invading a house in Ekiti with guns, the video met widespread condemnation on social media, with users accusing the Nigerian police of being the perpetrators.
