Unknown gunmen abduct four farmers in Ebonyi community

Unknown gunmen have raided an Ebonyi community predominantly occupied by farmers and kidnapped four individuals.

The four kidnapped farmers have been identified as Otuu Enya, Daniel Ezeh, Okoh Oyoh, and Comfort Igwe.

According to security analyst, Zagazola Makama, the attack occurred in the early hours of Wednesday, July 23 in Amata Akpoha community in Afikpo North Local Government Area of Ebonyi State, while the community members were busy working on their farmland.

An eyewitness who spoke to Zagazola reported that the gunmen stormed the community, shooting indiscriminately, with their faces covered by masks and wearing black attire.

Fortunately, several of the community members were able to flee from the gunmen; however, the four who were kidnapped weren’t lucky enough to escape.

Meanwhile, in response to the attack, police security operatives have launched a manhunt for the attackers and the farmers who were kidnapped.

To avoid further breakdown in law and order, the
Leaders of the Ebonyi community where the attack occurred have urged residents to remain calm while police and other security agencies handle the matter.
