The All Progressives Congress (APC) has fired back at the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), saying the opposition party is in the “Intensive Care Unit (ICU)” and is not in a good condition to judge President Bola Tinubu or his chances in the 2027 election.
This response came after PDP’s National Publicity Secretary, Debo Ologunagba, told journalists in Abuja on Monday that President Tinubu is a bad market and that no Nigerian would support him in 2027.
He also claimed that the PDP is the only party capable of defeating the ruling APC.
But in a statement, the APC’s Director of Publicity, Bala Ibrahim, dismissed PDP’s remarks, saying the opposition party lacks the strength or unity to make such comments.
“The insane cannot talk about insanity. The PDP is in the intensive care unit of the hospital at the moment; it is not in a position to even assess the mental sanity or market value of any product.”
“Under normal circumstances, a patient is not fit to talk about the state of health of another person.”
Ibrahim defended President Tinubu’s leadership, saying he is enjoying massive support from Nigerians and is leading the APC with a clear vision.
“As we speak today, the APC is under the leadership of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. The APC is the largest and strongest party in Africa. Tinubu is providing the leadership the country desires, and he has renewed the hope of Nigerians, pulling the country toward prosperity. Millions of patriotic Nigerians will support him come 2027.”
The APC spokesman also questioned the PDP’s ability to manage its own affairs, let alone make predictions about another party.
“Can the PDP say the same about itself before talking about others?” he asked. “Any person or party that cannot manage its own affairs today is in no position to speak about the affairs of another tomorrow.”
