Reps member Jamilu dumps PDP for ADC over party’s failures

Must read

A member of Nigeria’s House of Representatives, Hon. Muhammad Jamilu Katsina, has quit the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and switched allegiance to the African Democratic Congress (ADC).

Representing the Faskari/Kankara/Sabuwa Federal Constituency, Jamilu confirmed his defection on Thursday, blaming his decision on the PDP’s inability to function effectively as an opposition party.

In a press statement, the federal lawmaker expressed frustration over the party’s current state, claiming it had strayed from its mission and could no longer be trusted to hold the ruling party accountable.

According to him, “The PDP has lost its way and no longer represents the values it was founded upon. It has failed to stand up for the people or provide meaningful opposition.”

His defection aligns with a growing movement of political figures who are turning to alternative parties like the ADC as dissatisfaction with both the PDP and APC continues to rise.
