Gov Radda declares Monday public holiday to honour late President Buhari

The Government of Katsina State has declared Monday, July 14, 2025, as a work-free day to mourn the passing of former Nigerian President Muhammadu Buhari.

The announcement was made on Sunday evening by Abdullahi Faskari, Secretary to the State Government, on behalf of Governor Dikko Radda.

According to the statement, the holiday is a mark of respect for the former leader, who was a native of Daura, Katsina State.

Governor Radda noted that Buhari’s death is a significant loss not just to the state, but to the entire nation.

The government urged citizens to use the day for reflection and prayers for the repose of Buhari’s soul.

His remains are expected to be buried in Daura according to Islamic tradition.
