APC clinches chairmanship seats in Epe, Eredo, Ibeju-Lekki

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has emerged victorious in the chairmanship elections held in Epe, Eredo, and Ibeju-Lekki Local Government Areas of Lagos State.

The Lagos State Independent Electoral Commission (LASIEC) announced the results late Saturday night at the respective local government secretariats, around 11:55 p.m.

In Epe Local Government, the Returning Officer, Prof. Habeeb Sanni, declared APC’s candidate, Ms. Surah Animashaun, as the winner after securing 34,819 votes.

She defeated her opponents from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), who scored 1,535 votes, and the Labour Party, which garnered 675 votes.

“Having fulfilled all legal requirements and obtained the highest number of valid votes, Ms. Surah Animashaun is hereby declared the duly elected chairman of Epe LG,” Sanni said.

In Eredo Local Council Development Area, Dr. Afolabi Onasanya, who served as the returning officer, announced that Mr. Monsuru Akinloye of the APC won with 25,017 votes, while the PDP candidate received 424 votes.

Likewise, at the Ibeju-Lekki collation centre, returning officer Mr. Bankole Oduntan revealed that APC candidate Mr. Sesan Olowa won with a total of 59,342 votes. The Labour Party secured 45 votes, and the PDP scored 740 votes.

Oduntan confirmed Olowa’s victory, stating that he met all legal criteria and had the highest number of valid votes cast.
