Anambra PDP disowns coalition talks ahead of 2027 elections

Must read

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Anambra State has firmly rejected reports suggesting its involvement in any coalition ahead of the 2027 general elections.

State party chairman, Mr. Chidi Chidebe, made the clarification on Saturday while addressing journalists in Awka.

He stated categorically that the Anambra chapter is not engaged in any alliance with other political parties or individuals.

Chidebe explained that the PDP in the state remains a unified and independent body, operating strictly under the guidance of its national leadership.

“Our position is clear,” he said. “We are not part of any coalition arrangement. This is the official stance of our party at the national level, and we are fully aligned with it.”

He further noted that any suggestions of collaboration being circulated are not backed by the state leadership and should be regarded as personal opinions.

“We want to make it known that the PDP in Anambra is not involved in any coalition discussions. If any such talks exist, they are not authorized by the party and do not reflect our collective position,” Chidebe added.

The chairman reaffirmed the party’s commitment to strengthening its structure and preparing for the 2027 elections without relying on external political arrangements.
