2027: Your leg too short to kick Tinubu out – Reno Omokri blast El-Rufai

Must read

Controversial political commentator and former presidential aide, Reno Omokri, has taken a swipe at former Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai, following his defection from the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

In a post shared on his official X handle, Omokri mocked El-Rufai’s alleged ambition to unseat President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, ridiculing his political strength and influence.

“See the leg that someone wants to use to kick President Tinubu out of power,” Omokri wrote. “Leg that cannot even kick his own son out of the APC!”

The scathing comment appears to reference El-Rufai’s recent move to the Social Democratic Party (SDP) and coalition with the ADC, while his son, Bashir El-Rufai, remains a staunch APC supporter.

El-Rufai’s defection has generated widespread political discourse, especially amid growing realignments ahead of the 2027 general elections.

While the former governor has yet to publicly declare his intention for any office, his critics and supporters alike have since interpreted his departure from the APC as one of the signs of his political rivalry with Tinubu.

Omokri, known for his vocal criticism of the current administration and former political allies, further suggested that El-Rufai lacked the influence to challenge the president effectively, especially within his own political household.
