Party crisis: Kachikwu is mole – ADC chieftain

Must read

A prominent figure within the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Kano State, Hon. Abdullahi Umar, has strongly criticised the party’s former presidential candidate, Dumebi Kachikwu, for threatening legal action against the ADC and describing party coalition members as “enemies of Nigeria.”

Speaking to journalists in Kano, Abdullahi, who once vied for the House of Representatives seat in Tarauni Federal Constituency, described Kachikwu’s statement as baseless and unserious, saying the former candidate lacks any legitimate standing within the party’s leadership structure.

“I find it laughable and mind-boggling how a mere inconsequential former presidential candidate would lay claim to being a stakeholder,” Abdullahi said.

“If I may ask, which stake is Mr. Kachikwu talking about? He neither belongs to the National Working Committee, NWC, nor the National Executive Committee, NEC.”

Abdullahi went on to accuse Kachikwu of making empty threats and lacking commitment during the last election season.

“He didn’t embark on any nationwide campaign, nor did he engage in meaningful consultations. He was just a pretender,” he said.

He also dismissed Kachikwu’s claims of being a founding member of the ADC, adding, “An African adage opines that he who desires a mat should first own a part of the land to lay the mat.

Mr. Kachikwu should have joined other presidential candidates to own the ADC land, and perhaps, his mat will be considered to have a place to lie.”
