Tight security at PDP headquarters ahead of NEC meeting

Must read

A heavy security presence was observed around the Peoples Democratic Party’s (PDP) national secretariat, Wadata Plaza, in Abuja, ahead of a significant meeting of the party’s National Executive Committee (NEC).

Armed police officers were stationed at strategic points near the party office, creating a tense atmosphere as preparations for the high-stakes NEC meeting got underway.

An official of the party, who preferred not to be named, alleged that the security personnel were deployed to stop a scheduled Expanded Caucus Meeting from taking place at the premises.

Despite the heightened security, some PDP staff were seen entering the building without obstruction, indicating that operations within the headquarters had not been completely disrupted.

The deployment extended to Dalaba Street, the main road leading to Wadata Plaza, which was partially blocked by security operatives.

Today’s NEC meeting is expected to address critical internal issues within the party, making the build-up to the gathering especially tense.
