Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, who represents Kogi Central in the National Assembly, made her way to the Federal High Court in Abuja on Monday morning for her second arraignment on charges related to alleged defamation of Senate President Godswill Akpabio and former Kogi State Governor Yahaya Bello.
The senator did not attend the court alone; she was flanked by her husband, Emmanuel Uduaghan, renowned activist Aisha Yesufu, and a number of supporters who rallied behind her.
Justice Mohammed Umar of the Federal High Court is expected to preside over the matter.
AFRIPOST reports that this is not her first encounter with the judiciary on this issue. She was previously arraigned on similar allegations on June 19, 2025, at the High Court of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
During the prior hearing, the presiding judge rejected a move by federal prosecutors to issue a bench warrant for her arrest after she missed the scheduled court appearance.
