Senator representing Oyo South Senatorial District at the National Assembly, Barrister Sharafadeen Abiodun Alli has congratulated Muslims nationwide, particularly those in Oyo State on the commencement of the Islamic New Year, Hijrah 1447 AH.

Alli who was elected on the platform of All Progressives Congress APC, made this declaration in a statement issued by his media office.

The statement was made available to Afriposot on Friday.

Alli in the statement described the occasion as a time for deep reflection, spiritual renewal and renewed commitment to the values of peace, justice, and communal progress.

The lawmaker urged Muslims to draw lessons from the historic migration (Hijrah) of the Prophet Muhammad from Makkah to Madinah.

He said that Hijrah symbolises courage, sacrifice, perseverance and unwavering faith in Allah.

Alli, while speaking further, called on Muslims to use the occasion to rededicate themselves to nation-building by promoting love, tolerance and peaceful coexistence in their communities.

The lawmaker noted that Nigeria was going through critical challenges, calling for prayers and collective efforts toward unity, peace, and sustainable development.

He reaffirmed his commitment to policies and initiatives that would improve the living conditions his Senatorial District, Oyo State and Nigeria.

Alli pledged to continue advocating for better education, healthcare, infrastructure and economic opportunities for all, especially the vulnerable.

The lawmaker prayed that Allah would grant Nigeria a year filled with peace, progress and prosperity.

He wished all Muslims a spiritually fulfilling new year, urging them to remain steadfast in faith and hopeful for a brighter future.
