A private meeting is currently underway between top officials of the Peoples Democratic Party and the Independent National Electoral Commission in Abuja.
The closed-door session, held on Tuesday, comes as the PDP prepares for its National Executive Committee meeting, expected to address key issues concerning the party’s internal affairs.
The two sides proceeded into the meeting immediately after a brief press engagement at the INEC headquarters.
Although no official statement has been released regarding the outcome, sources suggest that the discussions are focused on upcoming electoral matters, the party’s organisational structure, and related political developments.
Among those present at the meeting are the acting National Chairman of the PDP, Ambassador Umar Damagum; INEC Chairman, Professor Mahmood Yakubu; PDP governors, and senior officials of the electoral commission.
Details later.
