A dramatic scene unfolded on Monday in Kano State when a young man scaled a tall billboard near Gadar Lado along Zaria Road, threatening to end his life unless his favourite TikTok stars appeared.
According to the spokesperson for the Kano State Police Command, SP Abdullahi Kiyawa, the distressed individual demanded the presence of specific social media personalities before he would agree to come down.
“He made it clear that unless the TikTok influencers he follows show up at the scene, he will jump,” Kiyawa wrote in a Facebook post, adding, “May Allah avert such a tragedy.”
The incident drew a large crowd of onlookers as security personnel and emergency responders raced to the location to de-escalate the situation and rescue the man safely.
As of the time this report was filed, efforts to bring him down unharmed were still ongoing.
