A final-year student of Rufus Giwa Polytechnic, Owo (RUGIPO), identified as Arobo Precious, has allegedly died by suicide under heartbreaking circumstances.
Sources said the 28-year-old Higher National Diploma (HND) II student was discovered lifeless around 9 p.m. in a bush close to his home in Owo, Ondo State.
Prior to the incident, Precious had posted a video on social media that has since gained widespread attention. In the clip, he expressed deep emotional pain, reportedly triggered by a failed relationship.
The message attached to the video read: “Eniayewu Opeyemi was the one who got me into this. People say there is still life ahead, but to me, there’s nothing left.”
A resident familiar with the matter, who asked not to be named, confirmed that the young man has been buried. The source also mentioned that his family is grieving deeply.
“He’s already been buried. His death left his parents devastated. Precious was a genuinely kind person,” the source added.
